Wibble wobble Jelly on a Plate

There were a number of jelly moulds on display from the Collection along with the chance to try Victorian recipes for fresh strawberry jelly and gooseberry jelly. Also two earlier jellies from the Tudor times were available, Leach which is milk based with gelatin, a small amount of sugar and rosewater for flavour. The other one was called Amber Crystal with the main flavours being ginger, cloves and nutmeg. These prompted lots of discussion with the visitors about modern jelly and flavours compared to the old style jellies they were tasting.
